MHP Realty represented Palisades Development Group in their acquisition of this property in 2006. Formerly a portion of the Furama Hotel, the 12-story structure was designed by noted modernist architect Welton Beckett. Palisades completely renovated the tower's 250 rooms, common areas and exterior, and a pool deck and lounge were added.

The popular hotel serves the Los Angeles communities of Marina del Rey, Playa del Rey, Playa Vista, and Westchester and also benefits from demand generated by nearby LAX airport and Loyola Marymount University.

This was an off-market transaction that was initially pitched to us by a member of the prior ownership group for a potential condominium conversion. A subsequent discussion with Palisades indicated their interest to operate the property as a boutique "lifestyle-driven" hotel, and an offer was generated within 3 days.
